Ageing is one of the main contributing factors leading to a decrease in muscle strength and eventually a decline in physical function. The importance of exercise is often underestimated in the elderly population.
Even if some seniors know they should exercise to maintain their strength, they may not know what to do or lack the motivation to do it, despite knowing its importance. Our group exercise programs not only help integrate physical activities but also encourage exercise participation among seniors.
Residential aged care facility exercise group is a great way to gather our elderly to exercise together keeping them socially connected and improving both their physical and mental wellbeing.
Potential benefits include but not limited to:
• Improved social connectivity
• Improved motivation in exercising
• Improved mood
• Improved sleep
For those who resides in a residential aged care facility, feel alone/unsupported or simply is lacking motivation, exercise group should be a good start for you to get strong and connected again.
At Skyline Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists offer exercise and stretching classes in various levels to residential aged care facilities in need of these services.
